Jay Z coming to DALLAS

It seems impossible that Jay-Z has slipped from raw newcomer to elder-statesman status so quickly, but the New York City native has done so with economical, slightly adventurous records that helped change the face of hip-hop. That said, his latest, The Blueprint 3, is more filler than killer; the Star-Telegram, in a three-star review, said the album "never catches fire long enough to sustain interest or quality." His "BP3" tour, with Young Jeezy in tow, stops in Dallas early next year. Tickets for the February date go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at all Ticketmaster outlets.

7 p.m. Feb. 23. American Airlines Center, Dallas. $49-$119, on sale Saturday. 800-745-3000; www.ticketmaster.com.
