Hip Hop CSS , Model Spotlight: Solei, Los Angles born beauty with a lot of "Assets"

Solei was born in Los Angeles and she and her family moved to Moreno Valley, CA. Supposedly, Solei claims she had self-esteem problems (as apparently all smoking hot chicks “suffer” from) and she grew up in a very small community.  She had alot trouble believing that she could be a super hot hip hop model. She didnt’ believe that she could succeed. She had some odd job here and there, and she moved around a lot. When she finnally landing in Florida, she was obviously still getting modeling offers. She was working at Universal Studios in Florida, and her friend Arron pushed her into being the hottest model alive.

Time to enjoy another awesome pic of Solei’s Behind.  This pic is taken from a Solei Vid that was showing her in a photo shoot for King Magazine.  She is very beautiful and she looks great in this hot little outfit.  She has one of the most gorgeous faces in the hip hop model industry and she will be much more seen in upcoming magazines and rap videos.

Jay-Z performs onstage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival held at the MGM Grand

When you think about it, there’s really only one way to kick off a pop music festival: with the gyrating, electro, pulsing sounds of the Black Eyed Peas, of course.
The foursome opened the iHeartRadio Music Festival at the MGM Grand Garden Arena last night with laser lights, a cadre of jailbird-themed backup dancers (in a word: divine), and one of their biggest hits in “Boom Boom Pow.” It’s almost needless to say, but the party-rocking vibe the show’s producers were probably dying to launch coalesced perfectly, as the crowd spiraled into dancing through the group’s biggest hits, including “Just Can’t Get Enough,” “Don’t Stop the Party,” “The Time (Dirty Bit),” and the perfect set-ender: “I Gotta Feeling.” (Personally, I was hoping for “Shut Up,” but no one ever seems to be into that song as much as me.) Of much interest (at least to me) was Fergie’s delightful getup, which included glittery knee-high boots, a glittery onesie, and fascinating, gold fingernail/cap things that contributed to her overall drag queen look. She was Vegas to a T! (But then again, she always kind of is.)

Music Licensing In The New World Of Music

For many years musicians in the know could make a decent amount of extra income from licensing their music, but this sometimes lucrative income stream is starting to slow down very rapidly. This unfortunate trend has allowed Music Supervisors to low-ball young artists who are desperate for much needed exposure, and is enabling the downward trend of license fees paid to the artists.
This age old story is the same as ever, the people at the bottom (in this case the young artists, and sometimes even not so young artists) are the ones getting the raw end of the deal, and the corporations get something cheap on a promise and make a fortune with it.
Trying to make a career in a band is harder than ever, so getting a piece of music in a popular show or movie can literally make you overnight. In reality the music industry needs these bands, no matter how it looks from the outside. If it becomes too hard to make even a modest living we are going to be left with artists from American Idol and similar shows that are 100% controlled by someone like Simon Fuller, and we will just get more fake, plastic and generic sounding rubbish with every ounce of originality wrung out of it.
Now do not think this is a rant against the singers on these shows because there is some real talent on them, and what other choice do many of them have these days? But how many Idol winners are huge stars and household names? A few like Carrie Underwood (OK, I am a fan), but who can name 5 that are really doing it and making music that will stand with The Beatles or Led Zep in 20 years time?
Artists are just a way to sell the TV show, who cares if they disappear after one record, there is another 50,000 waiting to audition for next season.
While Ryan Seacrest is pretty funny, a good host and a seemingly nice guy, if he gets the reported $45 million a season and the winners are all one album wonders then there is something not right somewhere. Couldn't that money be better used to develop real artists, not ones that have to have an instant hit and are not given time to develop into the next Stones or U2, I mean who couldn't present that show for $1million and do just as good a job if the truth be told?
I digress!
Even if you are lucky enough to get your music placed, unless it is in a huge movie or show, you may still not make much. This has lead to many talented artists putting their music on the sites at the lower end of the market, the ones with no quality control, the artists make pennies and devalue their brand, further contributing to lower licensing fees.
Another thing that artists need to be wary of are step deals, this is where the artist gets nothing or almost nothing upfront, with the promise of a payday later on down the road. On many occasions this amounts to money that is very hard to keep track of and so again the artist gets nothing.
New bands are also coming up against well established dinosaurs of music who sign huge exclusive deals to provide music for many shows, closing the door on the new guys, and taking even more money out of circulation.
You can still make money with licensing fees, but you need a lot of stuff out there. Of course there is always the one guy who made $200,000 from a commercial, but how many of those do you personally know? I heard of a guy who knows a guy who heard a conversation in Starbucks about someone who said they got a lot of money for a commercial once, but that is as close as I have ever got to someone who signed one of those deals!
I produce free production music DVDs for use in professional productions and promote a fair deal for the musician and the production companies, we need each other, so be fair to each other because this is a marathon business not a sprint.
As I mentioned earlier, TV music show presenters are getting $millions for not doing much, so please do not tell me the money is not there to develop real talent. If you need a cheaper Idol host so you can use the money more wisely I can find you 50 that are funnier and more talented just by walking down the Sunset Strip on any given day.

How to Make a Living in the Music Industry

being a musician? Let's face it we're not all going to be rock stars so what are the options? When you start to investigate the music industry you will discover that there is a wealth of information out there on a whole range of jobs.
Of course you can still perform. There are many venues that are looking for live music entertainment. In fact the live sector has grown more than any other area of the music industry in recent years. You could play in a cover band at local venues and as you build up a reputation you may find you are able to scale it up. Themed bands are also very popular so you may decide to start a tribute band! You could even sign up with an entertainment agent. Remember you will pay a commission to them though for any work they find you. This can work in your favour though if they are getting you lots of gigs.
If you are not a performer then you could look at careers in recording. Music producer and sound engineers still hold very creative roles however they are more limited. A great place to start is to set up a home studio to learn the skills on your own. Alternatively there are many courses you can enroll on to learn the ins and outs of music production.
Many musicians also decide to go into teaching music. You can teach music privately one to one or you could decide to teach in schools/colleges. Many of them offer one to one music lessons as supplementary activities. You should be able to demand around £25 an hour for teaching music. You may decide to do a teaching qualification which will mean you could teach on courses in schools and colleges. This has the added benefit of regular income and is seen as a 'real job'.
As you can see there are lots of options to investigate. If you are serious about making a living in music then it is very achievable. You may have ambitions to become a rock star but you can still have an enjoyable career creating and performing music.Or you could just have music as a hobby but let's face it we all want music to be a huge part of our lives. Get out there and get that music career!

Jersey Shore!

Guest post from: Winston Stewart
I know I’m totally behind the curve here but you guys, I just started watching Jersey Shore last week…that show is so ridiculous! My mom kept telling me to order Dish so I could watch it but I thought it was all hype…I can’t believe there’s actually people out there like these kids. I’m only 30 but I feel about a million years older than any of them and seriously, what are they doing in Italy? The show was so much more fun when they were at the shore and really in their element. I went to MTV.com and watched a bunch of old back episodes so I could get caught up on the drama and it didn’t take long, to be honest. Ronnie and Sammy fight, the Situation acts a fool and Jenny thinks she’s really hot – that’s pretty much all you need to know going into any given episode! I love trash TV but I think Jersey Shore takes it to a whole new level if you know what I mean…
